Amy OuYang

Amy is a dedicated and compassionate paediatric speech therapist with a passion for supporting neurodiverse children and their families. With a focus on creating inclusive, strengths-based approaches, Amy is committed to helping children build communication skills, enhance social engagement, and navigate the unique challenges of their developmental journey.
Amy holds a Master of Speech Pathology degree and has undergone extensive training in evidence-based practices tailored to neurodivergent children, including programs supporting Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other communication differences. She is skilled in using play-based and child-led therapies that prioritise a child’s comfort and natural interests, ensuring a supportive and engaging therapeutic environment.
Amy has a particular interest in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems, helping children who are non-speaking or minimally verbal find their voice through technology and other tools. She is also experienced in working with sensory differences, incorporating sensory-friendly strategies to promote regulation and participation.
In addition to her clinical expertise, Amy is committed to working collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals to create holistic and practical support plans. Her approach is empathetic and family-centered, ensuring that therapy goals align with each family’s values and priorities.
Amy believes in celebrating every child’s individuality and fostering a positive sense of identity and confidence in their abilities. By integrating her knowledge of neurodiversity, inclusive communication strategies, and a deep respect for each child’s unique journey, Amy empowers children to thrive and connect meaningfully with the world around them.
